A few photographs on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the end of WWI...

The City of Galva was pleased to host the annual Abilities Plus picnic in Wiley Park again this year. The annual event, which is sponsored and managed by the Galva Lion's Club, kicks off around noon. This year, our guests were escorted to the Park by the Galva Fire Department, whose engine was driven by none other than the Galva Fire Chief, Denny Tarleton. Bringing up the rear of the motorcade was Galva Police Chief Kraig Townsend.

There is nothing quite like a rousing game of kickball.

Wall Dogs Michael "The Boss" Clark, Scott "Cornbread" Lindley and Joy "The Story" Herandez retold the story of the Amazing Harvest by painting a large mural on Galva's most prominent canvas as a reminder of what happens when a neighbor is in need...

Kris Lager and Calliope Musicals graced the stage in Wiley Park for the last concert in this year's Levitt Amp summer series.

Although Samantha did not appear at the Sound Check, the rest of her band was there, followed by Luke Winslow-King and his band.

The bands Highup and Sophistafunk belt out a sound check.

The band, Upstate Rubdown, now known simply as Upstate, warms up for their concert in Wiley Park.

Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas (Zydeco) and Seasaw (Pop rock) provided the entertainment on July 8th in Wiley Park. Victoria, with the Levitt Foundation, was the special guest of the Galva Arts Council and was recognized by Emcee Jason Bates prior to the evening's entertainment.

Enjoy some photographs from the 2018 Galva Car Show hosted by Galva Freedom Fest. This year's show was held downtown on Front Street and included eighty-three vehicles.

Bishop Hill's Civil War Day this year was orgainized by the Bishop Hill Heritage Association and was sponsored by Community State Bank and the Galesburg Community Foundation. The program, which free and open to the public, consisted of a Civil War Encampment, an Artillery Demonstration, a Skirmish between Union and Confederate Troops, a Medical Demonstration, a performance by "Fox" Ellis as General John "Black Jack" Logan, a concert by Troubadour Dan Haughey and a concert by The Drummer Boy of Shiloh.

In conjunction with the Galva Lions Club, the City of Galva is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Abilities Plus Annual Picnic and Awards Program. The annual Abilities Plus competition was hot in more than one way this year: the ouside temperature was high and the contest was hard fought.

The Galva Freedom Fest Comittee sponsors and hosts the Galva Car Show each year in beautiful Wiley Park.

All proceeds from the show are applied to the 4th of July spectacular held in Galva each year to celebrate our independence from the British Crown.

The Galva Lion's Club hosted the Abilities Plus Annual Awards Banquet in beautiful Wiley Park. This year, croquet was added to the sport of kick ball.
